Title: Towards full life cycle automation in the IoT-edge-cloud continuum
Abstract: As the adoption of 5G and the emerging 6G networks continue to reshape the landscape of connectivity, the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) at the edge and in the cloud is becoming increasingly complex. The panel will explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding full life cycle automation in the IoT-edge-cloud continuum, focusing on the management and orchestration of new and evolving use cases enabled by next-generation networks. Key challenges include ensuring seamless interoperability across diverse devices, managing the massive scale and variety of data generated at the edge, and maintaining low-latency and high-throughput requirements for mission-critical applications. Additionally, the automation of network resource provisioning, dynamic optimization, and security are critical to enabling sustainable and efficient operations across the entire life cycle. With the advent of 5G and the promise of 6G, the automation cycle must adapt to rapidly changing demands, integrating AI and machine learning to intelligently manage the complexities of real-time control and service delivery. This panel will delve into the intricacies of automated processes in IoT ecosystems, highlighting the need for advanced orchestration, self-healing networks, and predictive analytics to address the unique challenges and unlock the full potential of IoT use cases across edge and cloud environments.”
